September 11 2006 - An Opportunity for Lightwork, Love and Healing

A client and friend once told me that on the anniversary of the death of a loved one, even if she is consciously unaware that the date is approaching, she will begin to feel great sadness and loss. Grief emerges from her body and if she is busy with her day to day life, she will temporarily wonder what is causing it. Is there something that has been bothering her? Is there an issue she is not dealing with? And then she remembers the date - or rather, her body reminds her.
Human consciousness moves in cycles. The passage of time is not linear. We revisit the past regularly on anniversaries of deaths, marriages, divorces, births, accidents and meetings. Our body remembers on a cellular level significant events that have taken place - almost like an inner body clock is programmed to remind us of what we have experienced. Until we are resolved on the issue at hand, it will subconsciously arise time and time again, like proverbial clockwork, demanding attention, acknowledgement and healing.
Spirals are featured in much goddess art. In spiritual philosophy the goddess is associated with the body, with mother earth. There is a tenet in spiritual teaching that as above, so below, as within, so without. This suggests that we, as physical bodies, are a microcosm of the greater body of the earth. We are born through physical bodies and return, eventually, to dust, the substance of the earth herself. Spiral awareness is what characterises spirituality that is integrated within the body.
We can perceive that which is taking place in our lives as following certain patterns and cycles. This is in evidence in the seasons around us, and in the events that take place in our global village, as well as our own personal markers - like anniversaries, birthdays, repeating psychological patterns in relationships or a weight problem that moves up and down without resolution, or an addiction that flares up and sends us into repeated patterns of behaviour that may satisfy us in the moment but leave us ultimately feeling scared, out of control and uncertain of ourselves.
Each time a body memory of a traumatic event, a loss or any kind of major shift in our consciousness arises, we can use the wisdom that we have acquired on our life's journey since then to reframe it, learn from it, process it, derive wisdom and strength from it - like revisiting the original cause but from a higher loop of the spiral - with greater awareness.
If we approach the pain that is resurfacing from a healing perspective of a 'higher loop of the spiral', we will find something within us as individuals, as a race, and as a part of the body of mother earth, that needs our love. Very often this is a child part of the psyche that needs reassurance, acceptance and just to know that all is well - that even through pain, we can find the Divine. We may need forgiveness, to restore broken trust, or even to just feel and release our anger and sadness, so that we can allow our bodies do what they wish to naturally do, which is to return to balance.
Or, of course, we can choose to ignore the opportunity for healing, which asks that we become more conscious and do some hard work, and instead fall right back into the old trauma or loss. When we take this path, it will feel as if no time has passed at all. We will be back there with all the old horror, pain and despair.
On a global level, this manifests as history repeating itself - whether literally through wars that are waged and never seem to end, peace that would come with growth remaining more elusive than finding the perfect lipstick - or symbolically (but just as emotionally powerful and re-traumatising) through media hype and replay. We will enter into great distress and despair.
What characterises the falling into pattern, rather than healing of a pattern, is the absence of hope, the refusal to find learning and growth, the feeling of overwhelm which prevents us from assuming healthy responsibility for ourselves and our important individual contribution to the world psyche.
Initiation is the spiritual healing of trauma. Trauma without healing that leads to growth, empowerment and greater capacity for divine love is basically abuse. To sit in front of media messages designed to whip your emotions into a frenzy without any sense of higher learning, spiritual healing or responsibility to find a deeper understanding of a trauma like September 11th bombings of New York for example, is abusive.
There are plenty of abusers in the world - from individuals with a very wounded personal history to media moguls with more interest in sensationalism leading to advertising revenue than responsibility for a contribution to human evolution. Whilst humanity is still learning to integrate the victim archetype in a healthy way the abuser archetype will also exist. I don't forsee either of these going away any time in the near future - so the fact that there are those who wish to abuse in the world at this point is a moot point. What is perhaps more useful and empowering to consider is how you choose to act in your own life, what you choose to take into your energy and how you choose to work with it - do you cast yourself in position of abuser or abused, or can you work to take responsibility for yourself and your contribution to life on earth?
Let us say that as lightworkers, we decide that we want to take spiritual responsibility for the energy we put out on this planet. We need to look beyond the surface appearance of perpetrator and victim, past the trauma and into the wounding to find the spiritual gift that can be derived from crisis - we need to look and see what requires healing.
What healing could possibly be derived from September 11?
On a global level, one could look at it and say this has cracked the falseness of a contemporary 'splendid isolation' that America once held around itself as a power beyond contention. One could say that it brought a culture down to earth, forcing it to connect with its shadow side of terrorism and fundamentalism. It is not actually an issue about East meets West, or Islam meets Christianity to my mind. I think this allows for propaganda and fear-mongering to get in the way of really seeing from another perspective.
Any conflict challenges us to find the enemy within, the part of us that is being mirrored by the other. My grandmother always used to say 'it takes two to tango'. Judging the other without seeking within is of limited value in terms of actually resolving pain. It may feel good to be self-righteous in the short term, but in the long term it hurts everyone and prevents any real learning from taking place - and without real learning, we keep repeating the same patterns over and over again, causing deeper pain and suffering each time.
If we can turn within and seek out that which is broken and in need of mending through love, we can get out of 'us versus them' approaches and find the commonality of human experience - underneath apparent differences we are all flesh and blood, born of the same substance and ultimately returning to the same place.
Imagine if every being involved in September 11 had a healthy relationship with their inner child - they could love and accept themselves and their feelings, they felt respect for their right to be here and live their life according to their own truths. How we are within, we are without. Imagine that level of self-acceptance and love delivered from person to person across the world. What would we see if that were to take place? No religious wars. No terrorism. No ecological rape of our planet. People living in difference and yet in harmony, in similarity and commonality, and yet as individuals. Sounds quite nice, doesn't it?
There is a tremendous opportunity for lightworkers to be of service during such times of planetary stress and collective human wounding - such as with September 11, or the anniversary of a Tsunami, economic crash or depression for example.
One way that lightworkers can help is to hold the intention to link up with the grid of light that the Ascended Masters and other lightworkers have established on and around our planet for support.
From that supported space, doing a meditative visualisation whereby you send divine light and love to the third eye of planet earth and the heart of the earth (or just the image of the earth in your mind) is very powerful.
Currently the third eye of the planet is etched with images of people dying from bombing of the twin towers - amongst other undesirable images. Clearing out the third eye of the earth with divine light and love allows for new images of growth, rebuilding and release of fear to occur. This process can help humanity move beyond the wounding, to stop imagining it again and again, and to instead look for higher understanding is a healing task.
Seeing divine love flooding the earth can help with teaching us lessons of being able to see viewpoints other than our own, to have compassion for suffering of others, no matter what their particular religious or political affiliations, to see that we can break cycles of violence leading to more violence, and to see that we can look deep into the eyes of our supposed enemy and see our own human eyes staring back at us, and finally take some of our shadow projections of fear back into our bodies, and deal with them, rather than pushing them out to create an 'unsafe' world are all worthwhile elements of healing that can come from this trauma, leading us from distress into greater wisdom and compassion, allowing spiritual initiation to take place.
There are many lightworkers that are seeking to help us heal the earth - both incarnate and discarnate. The recent passing of Steve Irwin is one example. His life passion of connecting humanity with the wonders of nature, through play, joy and energy, was brought into strong focus at this time - a time when we are most being asked to connect with our hearts. His passing at this time, in the global context of emotional crisis, can be interpreted as an act of great service on a soul level.
The goddess Kali is always available to those lightworkers willing to enter into her terrain to help shift the presence fear on our planet so that it may be utilised as creative energy, rather than in destructive tendencies. Calling on this goddess is an act of bravery itself as her energy is transformative at the deepest level and we are asked to confront our fears. This holds true to a principle that I hold to no matter what in my life - I only ever ask of others what I am prepared to do myself. So in praying for healing of planetary fears, we are in essence praying for the healing of our own fears - that we may become empowered through them, feed off them as Kali does, and use that energy to create. If we keep this in mind, we could look at the fear that is arising on our planet at this time as a tremendously powerful creative force - if only we choose to utilise it in such a way.
So the trauma of September 11 could be either be treated as abuse, to be recycled as a story of victimisation of the innocent at the hands of the evil or it could be turned into a ritual of higher initiation - something that through great suffering gives birth to great wisdom. The choice is up to us. Remember that when others forget. That may be one of the most important contributions to our planet that we ever make.

An Introduction to Lightwork and Lightworkers
Who are Lightworkers?
Lightworkers are Beings who have incarnated with the life purpose of healing our planet during this time of great transition. Each lightworker will have a specific issue that he or she has come to heal within themselves so that they may then assist others in doing the same and eventually allow for humanity as a whole and consequently the earth to heal that particular imbalance.
This healing is achieved through partaking personally in her evolution (in other words - Souls who have chosen to incarnate on Earth). They are also known as light-bearers, old souls, natural healers, and so on. A lightworker can come in many shapes and sizes. They may be drawn to the healing arts, education and training, be interested in politics, finance or corporate life, the performing arts or technology.
A lightworker is a special soul who, as a part of their life mission or divine life purpose, has come to heal our planet. Every being on this planet is a healer in some form or another - because we have all come to 'earth school' to learn and grow. The difference between a lightworker and any other soul is that for the lightworker, the desire to help, be of some uplifting assistance and transformation on the planet is conscious. They may not be spiritual awakened yet - but if the desire is there, then it will only be a matter of time before the lightworker steps forward onto their path.
The wonderous thing about Universal Law is that we all vibrate together and as you step onto your spiritual path, you automatically assist others energetically in doing the same. As new lightworkers awaken from their slumber, more lightworkers will be awakened through their example and the healing of our planet can deepen, restoring her health and wellbeing, and allowing for global recognition of the abundant and creative ways of the Universe and the Love that flows within our Solar System.
All Lightworkers are connected energetically - again, whether or not you are aware of it. This means that you can draw upon the strength of other lightworkers in your lightwork, working as a part of a global group, simply through holding the intention to connect. As you develop spiritually, you will learn how to become conscious through the heart and in doing so, connect with your inner knowing. It is at this stage that lightworkers begin to access their tremendous innate spiritual powers, learning techniques and healing modalities that are rarely taught.
Let us have a look for a moment at what lightwork actually means.
What is Lightwork?
Lightwork is a form of spiritual healing specifically targeting Personal and Planetary Evolution through spiritual growth. Lightwork is based on Invocation - or calling upon higher, more evolved spiritual beings to connect with you, and through the Universal Law of Resonance and Vibration, help raise your energetic vibration. I liken it to working with tuning forks - when one tuning fork is struck, all the others around it begin to vibrate at the same pitch. This is the Universal Law of Resonance and Vibration (and why we do our best as lightworkers to deal with the negative in our lives, but when choice is there, choose to surround ourselves with truth, beauty and healing energies - such as through spending time in nature and clean, uplifting environments, meditating regularly and connecting with a source of inner peace on a regular basis).
Lightwork is essentially experienced rather than explained - but in short will connect you with the auric fields of being of consciousness higher than your own at this stage - such as angels, ascended masters, planets and stars. Because you are consciously manipulating this energy and taking on only as much as you need at each time, rather than blowing your circuits by invoking carelessly and without proper guidance and training, you will gradually awaken your own consciousness to higher and higher levels, minimizing the mutational symptoms that occur as you evolve (such as headaches and pains, cleansing illnesses and so forth that do ease off as you progress, but are often quite prevalent in the early phases of development as you clear and release a degree of old emotional excess).
As invocation is carried out and spiritual growth occurs, a number of phenomena manifest, including greater connection with your Higher Self or Soul, enhanced capacity to create and master the arts of manifestation, intensely expanded spiritual awareness and practical shifts within your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies as the center of power and awareness begins to shift from the lower three centers to the heart chakra.
Through this process, the heart begins to govern the functions of the lower three chakras (base, sacral and solar plexus) and assists the Soul or Higher Self in bringing them into alignment with its higher plan. As this process occurs, changes in work, relationships, personal living arrangements and your physical lifestyle tend to manifest - and if they do not (ie if we resist those changes, despite our better judgement), then crises erupt, forcing our hand, as it were, and pushing us to make the change we know we need to make.
As you may sense, this kind of spiritual work is a double edged sword. Like any powerful work, it will bring great capacity for joy, but most of us want joy, bliss and spiritual enlightenment without leaving our comfy couch in front of the TV, but spiritual growth is not something that happens watching the Friday night movie. It must be earned and it is earned through pushing through our comfort zone and when sensing that it is necessary for our growth to do so, preparing to release old ways, old relationships, old friendships, even our old selves in faith and trust that something far superior is on its way.
The Friday night movie might be OK when you need a rest and some time out from your transformational work (and rest and taking a break to allow for recovery and integration of the work you have done is JUST AS IMPORTANT as the work itself), but it is not the way to evoke that transformation.
This is life work - it is spiritual work that acts as a catalyst for personal transformation and planetary healing. It is not academic - although you will awaken wisdom and ancient knowledge and an immense capacity for learning. Rather it is practical and real. This is not for those that wish to remain, as Caroline Myss as termed them 'spiritual librarians'. Reading is great to expand the mind, but it is no substitute for real emotional work. And wishing won't make it so (I have tried, really, but there is no substitute for the real thing!).
What is real spiritual work in your life? Learning to focus on you rather than bitching about everyone else, giving to your inner child, loving your work (as best you can!), enriching your relationships with your partner, your family and your friends, indulging in creative expression (maybe build a sandcastle?). It is also about taking some time off from being 'spiritual' in the sense of giving the other parts of you time to play - that may in frisky games with your partner, giving your pet some attention, going to the park or lying on the beach. Balance, balance, balance, balance. Did I mention balance was important?
So be aware that if you decide to take up the gauntlet, you really can heal and transform yourself - your body, your emotions and sense of wellbeing, your mind and your Spirit - through invocative spiritual work.
Invocation is best taught through guided meditations and practiced slowly and regularly so as not to overwhelm the energy system. You could liken it to a person who never exercises attempting to do a ten kilometer run. Even if they forced themselves, they would be unable to complete the course without overstraining the body and possibly causing quite severe harm to themselves - whereas the runner who trains in increments, starting with walking, progressing to half walking, half jogging, then to short runs, building up speed and distance over time, conditions their body to stand greater and greater physical strain, and will eventually be able to run that distance comfortably.
So it is with spiritual work. Do not think for a moment that if you cannot see something (you will when your clairvoyance starts to develop), then it is not powerful. In the same way that natural herbs can have healing powers but be dangerous and toxic when taken inappropriately, so to can spiritual work both help and hinder your progress if not monitored and balanced with the rest of your life's activities.
This is usually the last thing a new student wishes to hear, as most students run at their spiritual studies like a bull at a gate! You have to admire their enthusiasm, but sustained commitment is what will get you there. Sounds a bit like the story of the hare and the tortoise. As a practitioner, you will need to keep an eye on your clients and students and encourage moderation and balance in all things. For every student that I have that resists personal meditation practice, there is always one that I must caution to take a day off from all spiritual work at least once a week.
A healer mentioned the 85% rule to me, which I quite like and use in many ways. The idea is that what we do for 85% of the time dictates our health and wellbeing - it allows for consistency and discipline, without becoming rigid and inflexible. Keeping things in proportion is a healthy way to put our usual need for control to good use, allowing Spirit to flow through us, whilst regulating the tendency of our ego to go to extremes.
So provided that this philosophy of moderation is incorporated in daily life, invocation can be used to great effect and with extraordinary results in terms of personal and spiritual development - particularly when experienced through the aura of an appropriate spiritual teacher. The meditation CDs I have created hold a certain vibration and enable individuals to experience invocation in a powerful form when they are without access to a spiritual group or choose to pursue their development in a solitary capacity for a time.
Group energy is one of the great gifts and challenges of spiritual work and it can greatly enhance invocative work - and also create diversions (usually through judgement, power games and manipulation) to the spiritual path at the same time. Always rely on your gut instincts and trust your feelings. Of course, if you ignore your intuition, at least be conscious that you are choosing to do so. Then when it is proved right after the event (Dr Fred Bell calls our intuition 'that voice you should have listened to'!) you can at least gain some self-esteem in terms of how wise you really are and perhaps decide to act on that voice the next time it gives you guidance (and it will do so regularly).
What is my particular task this lifetime as a lightworker?
The specific issue that you have come to work through will be found by searching for the area in your life where your encounter great difficulty and great fulfillment and success. Your life purpose will involve combining the two as you work through the difficulty and are able to understand how to heal it within yourself. Eventually, as you learn to heal and master this issue, you will develop expertise in assisting others with similar issues. One thing I have consistently observed is that the Universe will provide you with every support when you are walking your path. Opportunities will come to you - and if they are not, then you need to ask yourself 'am I allowing myself to follow a heart-centred path and if so, is this just a question of trusting in universal timing?'.
Please remember that your Path will always find you. You may feel as if you are bumbling about in the dark, with not a clue as to what you are here to do but here is a truth - you are already on your path. Whether or not it seems like a "proper" life path or not is irrelevant. If you want your path to become clearer to you, ask for Guidance to assist you, but know that you are exactly where you are meant to be, learning exactly what you are meant to be learning and the more you can accept this, the more you will actually flow into more conscious and fulfilling expression of your life path.
The placement of Chiron in your natal astrology chart and your north and south nodes can teach you something about how you will assist others, but really, it isn't too difficult to find out your life purpose (despite how much struggle we seem to go through on the quest to discover why we are here!). You need to look at where you struggle the most and where you are most successful in your life (or where you would like to be most successful). I do a lot of readings for people around their life path, but what always remains the same, no matter how far 'along' our path we are, is that when we are ready to know more, we will! Don't fret if you are feeling lost. You simply cannot miss what you have come here to experience. You will fulfill your mission this lifetime - pray for assistance (Archangel Michael is great for this) and trust that you are watched, heard and loved by Heaven and all is well in your world!

Creating Sacred Spiritual Space for Advanced Circles
Many lightworkers are beginning to start their own meditation groups - either for spiritual growth or perhaps for personal healing and spiritual counselling. The energy that is created in a room during such sessions can be magnificent. Such energies are amplified and absorbed by the participants in a circle for their own healing when there is an appropriate 'container' established to 'catch' the energies and hold them throughout the process of the class or meeting.
There are any number of ways of creating such a container, including the creation (using visualisation combined with focused intent) of an etheric catchment or web around the room, programmed to dissolve just after the scheduled finish time of the group. You can also intend that the web will remove and transmute negative energies emitted through your group work and allow only positive energies to enter into the group environment.
Such devices are extremely powerful and you will find that the group, even if it finishes early, will not disband until your etheric web does. People will just want to stay and talk and be unconsciously drawn to remain in the atmosphere that you have created!
Feel free to practice, play and be as creative as you want with such energetic feng-shui devices - however, you might like to try the Invocational process that the Lightworker Training Circle utilised for commencement of its training in 2002 which proved to be highly effective.
Invocation Process for the Circle of Light
This is an outline of the procedures that the Circle of Light in Sydney used to open the group each week, draw in Higher Energies and build group consciousness amongst the group members. Utilise your intuition to adjust it to suit your needs and remember - as a facilitator you will learn enormous amounts from the Guidance that has inspired you to run your own group, so be open and willing to learn and you will!
Preparation of Sacred Space
Create your sacred healing space as per usual - perhaps using invocation of the ascended masters and archangels. As always, feel free to act intuitively based on your individual/group needs.
Preparation of the Energy Field
This part of the group process is for sealing and protecting the electro-magnetic field of each individual participant, as well as opening the higher centres to receive the down-pouring of spiritual energy from the higher planes, as well as opening and strengthening the lower centres to function as a stable support system for the individual and the earth-based group of which that individual is a part.
Choose a colour energy for the evening (intuitively - this may differ from week to week and will be determined by Spirit for each group of individuals or individual working within the Circle of Light). All colours will perform this function to varying degrees. Trust your intuition around choosing a colour for each session. If in doubt, choose violet, magenta, white or gold colour energies.
Either using Aura-Soma Pomanders (check out www.aura-soma.com), solarised water or essential oils that reflect the colour energy that you are invoking (such as Geranium for a Green or Violet vibration, Bergamot for a green or gold vibration, or Jasmine for a white vibration - again trusting your intuition), place a few drops in the palm of each hand and gentle place the hands together to allow absorption to occur.
Where no such potions are available, a simple and effective alternative is to invoke your chosen colour energy through visualisation and requesting that its energy flow through your being.
Once your colour energy has been invoked, stand with your arms above your head, outstretched and palms facing outwards. Closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing, send that colour energy out to all who require it on our planet (including yourself). Feel the energies flowing out of your hands. You may also sense movement within your own aura and chakra system as the colour starts to work its vibration through your aura, chakras and cells.
As soon as you orient your perspective to service, you invoke the soul and monad energy. This in itself will build your spiritual presence and therefore offer protection, vitalisation and higher alignment.
After a moment, pull your palms inwards, gently directing that colour energy into the Crown Centre above your head (not touching, but several inches above the body, over the chakra point), then continue to move your hands down the body.
After the crown, you will direct colour energy towards the remaining front head centres - starting just above your hairline at your forehead and gently directing energy down, into the forehead chakra and the ajna or third-eye centre.
After this, move the hands down to direct your colour energy to your throat, to the ananda-khanda chakra (which is between the heart and throat centres), to the sacred heart centre (which is usually placed deeper within the chest above your heart centre - but you will need to intuit the location of your own centre as placement does vary between individuals), then to the heart chakra, spleen chakra, solar plexus centre, sacral centre (including your naval power centre) and down to the base.
Gently take the hands over the back of your head, softly directing the clearing and protective aspects of your colour across the back-head chakra, the causal centre at the base of the skull, the back throat, back heart, back solar plexus, back sacral and back base centre.
After you have gently swept the colour energies down the front and down the back of the aura, imagine sweeping any psychic debris, negativity or density down towards your feet. Squat down and hold the palms of your hands facing the earth. Feel those denser energies being released through your palms and bathed in the colour energy that you are radiating as they are sent deep into the Earth for transmutation. Give thanks to the Earth for receiving these energies from you for healing.
Slowly allow yourself to stand up, and gently pull your energies up from each chakra, fluffing up your aura and being aware of the clarity of your aura as you do so.
Take your hands up above your head, stretching high, and joining them in prayer position over your crown chakra.
Bring your palms down to your nose, closing your eyes and gently taking three deep breaths, inhaling the colour energy and exhaling the colour energy. When you are finished with your colour breathing, take your hands up above your head once more, then bringing them down in prayer position over the forehead chakra, then finishing with the hands in prayer position over the heart chakra.
You have prepared your energy field.
Group Consciousness Meditation
Prepare yourself (and your group members if working with a group) to sit comfortably for meditation. This meditation will connect all lightworkers participating in this circle as well as invoke higher assistance through the Great Invocation (you are probably well versed in this already, but information is included in the separate sections included below on that prayer and its occult meaning). A guided version of this meditation is available on Volume III of Healing with the Ascended Masters Meditations by Alana Fairchild (available through this website and through metaphysical bookshops around Australia).
Once seated you will focus on your breathing and bring your awareness into the present moment, releasing past and future distractions and grounding your awareness fully in that moment and in the body. You will become aware of your heart centre, feeling it radiate outwards.
Your awareness will then move upwards, slightly above you and in centred in the sacred space that you have created. At this point will be the energy of the group consciousness. You may see this in many forms including an angel, a mass of colour, energy or dynamic movement or in other ways. Calling upon the healing guides and angels that are present behind you, ask that they send cosmic love and light through your heart and allow yourself to send that love energy from your heart (supported by your guidance and the angelic realms) into the group energy as a stream of light.
When you are ready, maintaining that stream of love from the heart, become aware of your crown centre and feel a stream of higher consciousness emanating from the group energy and connect with your own crown, entering into your being. Be simultaneously aware of the flow of energy upwards into the group energy from your heart and the flow of energy downwards from the group into your crown. This group energy (and two-way energy flow) will remain connected with you for the duration of the session, without you needing to retain full conscious awareness of it beyond the initial invocation.
You will need to use the Violet Flame or violet colour energy to cleanse your aura and space (and those of any group members that you may choose to work with) at the end of your session. This will ensure that only appropriate connection to group energy is maintained outside of session times and will keep your own energy clear and in appropriate psychic integrity (or in other words, keep you and only you in your own space). Once you have connected with this group consciousness, you will then imagine a chain of rainbow light encircling your waist, to support and energise you and connect you with the group members. You will see this chain encircling all group members and flowing constantly, moving and breathing. This is a safety mechanism and will support all group members in remaining aligned with the highest spiritual realities through the session work, no matter what energies may arise, intention will be consistently directed towards the connection with higher energies of light, love and healing. So be it!

Understanding the Great Invocation
When you invoke higher energies, using holy words of power, you call great forces into your being and into your life. In working with the Great Invocation in class each week, we have connected with the Spiritual Hierarchy of Ascended Masters, the Forces of Light and Great Beings beyond our comprehension at this point in time.
When you start to connect with these energies, change occurs on personal and planetary levels. This is why it is so important to have a solid grounding of personal work to support you before you embark upon invocational work - otherwise the force of the energy being invoked is just too great and will destabilise you on physical, emotional and mental levels. Although a degree of destabilisation will always occur with this work (for that is how we grow out of old ways and into the new ways of being), when there is a supportive foundation of personal development work, this phenomenon is temporary and will not be extreme in nature.
When you more fully understand what it is that you are invoking when you say The Great Invocation, certain changes occurring in your life and within your being will make more sense to you and you can consciously choose to flow with them, rather than unconsciously resist them (and enter into struggle, rather than experiencing the grace and effortlessness of flow).
In the first paragraph of the Invocation, you are calling upon the Powers of Light within the Universal Mind and requesting illumination or enlightenment of your own consciousness. You are also calling forth Cosmic Consciousness on a planetary level - decreeing that it be established on our Beloved Earth.
In the second paragraph, you are Invoking Christ Consciousness within yourself and again, upon the planet as a whole. In numerous religions (such as Jehovah's Witnesses and Evangelical Christianity), there is reference to the Return of the Messiah or the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the necessity for 144,000 souls to enter into Heaven to allow this to manifest. Religion takes sacred truth and renders it exoteric (or outer based). Occultism takes sacred truth and sees it in an esoteric (or inner based) sense. So, when 144,000 lightworkers upon our planet embody Christ Consciousness within themselves, critical mass is achieved and the entire planet will undergo an enormous vibrational shift and ascend - bringing us the Golden Age of which we have spoken in class. The Invocation is calling upon the Higher Realms of those Beings who have already achieved Christ Consciousness within themselves to send forth energy and power to assist humanity in doing so for itself and its planet.
The third paragraph in the Invocation refers to Shamballa, the Sacred Centre of Divinity and specifically invokes Divine Will. In this paragraph, you are essentially saying 'Thy Will replace My Will' and offering yourself as a vehicle through which divine purpose - the greater plan - can manifest. This is analogous to declaring to the Universe that you are ready to carry out your Life Purpose for this lifetime. Shamballa energy resonates to the First Ray of 'positive destruction'. Usually it is too powerful for direct transmission and is 'stepped down' to us through the beings of light in the Spiritual Hierarchy. To give you a sense of its potency, the last time Shamballa directly connected with the Earth, without the intermediary channel of the Hierarchy, the first world war resulted, and repercussions of that event are still being registered today. Because the Hierarchy is our filter for Shamballa energies, you are invoking Divinity in a form that is not excessively destabilising to the planet at this time - although as mentioned above, a degree of destabilisation will always occur in the process of spiritual evolution.
In the fourth paragraph, you are invoking for the Divine Plan to manifest throughout all of Humanity, and when referring to 'sealing the door where Evil dwells', you are calling forth ascension and the end of the 'game of separation and duality' that we have been playing on this out planet. Decreeing restoration of the Plan acknowledges you as a part of the masterclass on Earth at present and calls forth planetary ascension, or our return to the Source and the resulting New Age.
Opening the Group and Facilitating Healing Meditation
After the above invocational process, the group will open, undergo brief discussion about their week, focusing on intuitive guidance, and then undertake a healing meditation, channelled based on the needs of the group each week, focusing on achieving a number of key goals, including connection with higher energies (in the form of ascended masters and/or archangels) and direction of those energies through the group (via group consciousness and group chakras) towards the planet.
This meditation can be connected with energetically and intuitively with the key elements being a journey in the first aspect of the meditation to connect with energies on the inner planes followed by a bridging experience of taking that energy from above and directing it below (to the earth) and then ending by moving back into your own space, bringing that energy with you for your own healing, and grounding your spirit back into your own body.
After this healing work, you may wish to enter into your own guided meditation (such as with Alana's Healing with the Ascended Masters Guided Meditation CDs available on this site and in metaphysical bookshops around Australia), discussion or spiritual healing work for the group members and/or planet as a whole.
At the end of the group, reconnection will occur, with invocation of healing energies and protection for the week ahead (or however long it is til you next meet), closing of the higher centres and allowing the group members to leave feeling grounded and in their own space.

We all have Spirit Guides
We all have guides and angels taking care of us - more spiritual support surrounds us than you could possibly imagine! The issue is not whether or not we are supported, but whether we are open to receive that support.
So - do we believe that we are worthy to receive? Are we 'special enough' to live the life of our dreams and have unlimited abundance, support, creativity and love in our lives? Do we deserve to have fun, pursue our interests, make an important contribution to the world and live according to our true inner desires?
Guidance will grow and evolve with you
Learning to sense the energy, personality and vibration of your guide will assist with sensing new additions - such as special guides that will work with you through Reiki.
Guides can assist with particular issues, and at particular times - especially if you are going through a stressful time or great transition in your life.
You have a spiritual team of Guides supporting you
Sometimes people may have one guide that they are consciously working with on a Soul level, whilst others may have several, whilst still others have an army of guides.
The presence of guidance varies in each individual and will be perfect for you and your path. Heaven provides you with exactly what you need!
It is not necessary or even 'better' to have a great number of spirit guides.
Who are your spirit guides?
Can be relatives, they can spend time with you
to take care of you, but there will normally be other more advanced guides
to instruct you about your life path and spirituality.
Spiritual teachers, Ascended Masters, Beings of Light and Archangels.
Souls from past lives (and you may guide them in their next life - reversing roles so that you can both learn from the role of being the guide and from the role of the one being guided).
The power of your own Soul is a tremendous guide that is always with you and the 'gateway' to connection with higher worlds.
Practical Exercise - Meeting your Spirit Guide
- Focusing on the breath.
- Feeling the mind quieten and the emotions begin to still.
- Focusing on our inner world, openness and peace expanding inside of
us.
- Opening the heart
- Feeling a sense of inner expansion and openness manifesting within you.
- Moving into a safe and empty space.
- Seeing a light appear before you.
- This light carries the energy of the Spirit Guide that is assisting
you right now.
- Allow yourself to move closer to that light and the light to move closer
to you.
- Sense the energy of that light - does it have certain qualities or feelings?
- What are these qualities? Kindness? Love? Wisdom? Peace? Humour? Calmness?
- Is it bright? Does it have a particular colour or shape?
- When you are ready, silently in your mind, call
for your guide to step forward and appear before you in whatever form
is most appropriate for you at this stage in your development.
- Feel yourself becoming bathed in the energy of this Guide.
- Allow that energy to flow through you and around you.
- Silently, in your mind, talk to this Guide. You may ask questions or
talk about the concerns in your life that you would like some help to
resolve.
- Allow this Guide to talk to you, or to touch or embrace you or simply
to be near you - whatever feels most comfortable, loving and safe to you.
- Your Guide will never judge you or be angry with
you - but simply love, honour and support you, asking for nothing in return,
except to be allowed to help you.
- Feel this unconditional love emanate from your Guide.
- When ready, ask your Guide to make more direct contact with you from
now on.
- Tell your Guide that you will be more aware that Spirit wishes to connect
with you on a daily basis and that you will turn your attention towards
Spiritual Communication more often.
- Know that you can connect with this Guide at any time by simply asking
for connection to take place.
- You may ask your Guide now if there is a name or a particular action
that you can use to call upon the energy of Spirit to connect with you.
- You may be given a name, a symbol, colour or action to perform in order
to connect with Spirit, or you may just be advised to turn your mind to
Spirit whenever you seek connection.
- Allow yourself to slowly step back from your
Guide now.
- Gently moving away from that light, back into the inner space and expansiveness
that you hold deep within you.
- Allow that sense of inner peace and spiritual connection to remain.
- Feeling your awareness return to your body, breathing in and out.
- Focusing on the breath, and in your own time, opening your eyes.
What kind of healing or guidance can be granted and how?
Anything and everything in every possible way!
Guidance and its potential forms and topics are limitless. Ask for assistance with everything and anything. Let the Universe sort out the details. Your role is not to control everything - it is simply to align with your Highest Spiritual Self, identify your heart's desire and then ask Spirit to help you bring that desire into perfect manifestation. Guidance will help you - but they need to be asked first!
The law of freewill requires that all help is requested
before given.
All requests for help will be answered.
Ask for help, love, abundance, protection and support from your Guidance and your Soul each morning. Give thanks each evening before you go to sleep. These two minutes a day will transform you and your life.
Guidance can be given during dreamstate. Or in meditation either consciously through a 'message' or subconsciously via telepathic imprint or spiritual transmission. Perhaps in the quiet moments when you get a solution 'pop' into your mind (you may think that it was your idea - that happens a lot!). Or Guidance may speak to you through an oracle card, through your hearing a song and identifying with the lyrics (a client once heard the same song repeated five times, as her CD player seemed to break down momentarily - that is a message too!). Or even lying on the beach, sitting in nature. Through Prayer and moments of relaxation.
The key is that you have the intention to receive healing …
You can sit in meditation or relaxation and ask for your guidance and angels to perform healing on you. Please leave at least twenty minutes for this practice. You may sense energy moving through your body, you may lose your sense of time, fall asleep or even feel tingles, chills or shifts of heat in your body. You will become more aware of this healing taking place as you become more sensitive to energy.
Remove expectations about what you should hear and how you should hear it (providing that you do expect that guidance be uplifting and loving, helpful and positive) and tune into the presence of spirit and guidance in your life every day.
The meditative work we have done today will have offered you energy from Spirit and therefore healing. The more sensitive you become the more you will become aware of this energy inflow.
Your Guidance has communicated with you already!
If there is one thing that I know to be true for every single person on this planet, it is that their Spirit Guides want to connect more effortlessly and clearly with them.
I can guarantee you that even if you thought coming along today was your idea, it originated from your Guidance. So well done - you have already started to connect more consciously …
- think more about your guides
- make them a part of your life
- talk to them more
- expect, demand, require that they answer you immediately
- start believing in your capacity to receive
- work on having some quiet time for yourself and clear your inner self
through spiritual and personal work
- make a commitment to yourself to start today

Accessing your Natural Healing Powers
- we all have natural healing powers
- we need to learn how to access them
- some of us will be more 'wired' for healing than others (because it
is our life path)
- Reiki activates your 'wiring' and allows for energies to flow
- deep interest in healing (on a soul rather than ego level) indicates
it is an element of your life path
- natural healing power is built into the human energy system to varying
degrees
- humanity is naturally and in essence a bridge between heaven and earth
- spiritual energy already flows through you on a daily basis
- you already draw healing earth energies to support you whilst you are
here
- you're already a spiritual energy being with tremendous capacity to
generate and radiate healing energies (it is encoded in our DNA)

Practical Exercise - Learning to sense energy
Energy Awareness Exercise - Building Etheric Sensitivity
- rub hands vigorously together and manipulate
and activate palm chakras
- place hands together, gently separating and closing to begin to sense
etheric bulk
- then use your mind to generate energy from the palm chakras
- widen them to create a ball of energy
- practice pushing and pulling it to sense the presence of energy
- developing a different form of knowing that can take a little while
to get used to
- build depth and quality of your energy ball through breath exhalation
and focused intent
- pat into your chakra of choice to energise
Evolutionary and Involutionary Energy Flow
You are a living conduit for energy transfer between Heaven and Earth
Involutionary Flow
- this is the flow from Heaven to Earth
- through the crown and down to the base chakra, then into the earth
- your spiritual connection
- the source for heavenly healing energies
Evolutionary Flow
- this is the flow from Earth upwards to Heaven
- drawn up through the feet and base chakra and sent upwards out through
the crown
- your earthly connection and source of healing earth energies
Practical Exercise - Becoming Aware of Key Energy Channels
- key sources of energy are available to you and
you are now going to consciously sense them in meditation
- first become aware of the breath
- then become aware of the base of the spine, legs
and soles of the feet
- imagine roots from the feet extending deep within the earth
- imagine drawing healing, rejuvenating earth energies up through your
feet
- feel the energy warming, healing and energising the body
- move awareness up slowly through the centres
- directing the energy flow out through the top of the head
- this is your evolutionary flow, taking energy upwards
- then become aware of a source of pure light above
your head
- this light is the highest and purest source of spiritual contact available
to you
- allow that light to enter into the top of your head
- using your mind, take this light down through the chakras, one by one
- slowly fill your body with light, purifying, uplifting and illuminating
your energy field
- take it down through the base and out through the soles of the feet
- this is your involutionary flow, bringing heaven to earth
- allow your awareness to expand now, so that you
are simultaneously aware of involutionary flow downwards from Heaven to
Earth and the evolutionary flow upwards from Earth to Heaven
- see how you are a living energy conduit, sense and feel these energies
flowing through you, offering healing
- when you are ready, become aware of your breath and body, and in your
own time, opening your eyes
Preparation for giving or receiving a Healing
- the above technique will help you energise and
charge your energy system
- a strong energy system is the form of psychic and spiritual protection
for all healing work
- you can then call upon your guides, angels and beings of light to further
protect and guide you in your spiritual healing work
- ask for complete cleansing of your energy system before and after the
healing session
Principles of Spiritual Healing
- spiritual and intuitive healing is basically
invocative in nature
- this means what you call upon for assistance is very important
- many sources of energy and types of assistance are available
- energy follows thought, what you think about you bring about (focus
on healing, not tonight's dinner!)
- invocation requires that silently in prayer and meditation or aloud
you request presence and assistance
- you can invoke angels, ascended masters, beings of love, light and healing,
the light of the Divine and so on
- invoke with trust, respect and confidence - you will be heard and answered
- if an energy is too high for your energy system, a stand-in will be
sent to step down the energy to you
- give thanks after all invocations and at the end of each session, dismiss
the energies with gratitude
Practical Exercise - Preparing the Energy Field and Invoking for Assistance
- closing your eyes, becoming aware of your breath
- take your focus out to your outer aura
- imagine sending violet light all around the aura like a bubble
- silently ask that this light protect you
- layer the light with gold, blue and another layer of violet
- take your awareness to your base chakra and the
soles of your feet
- feel your connection with the earth become strong, protective, energising
and supportive
- take your awareness to your heart and feel it open wide, expand and
become light
- take your awareness to your crown centre, feel it open wide
- become aware of a pure white light of Spirit beaming down into your
crown
- feel the strength of your spiritual connection for guidance, healing
energies and inspiration
- silently in your mind, request the presence and
assistance of your guides, angels and soul
- ask for healing, protection, compassion, wisdom, inspiration, guidance
and divine power
- give thanks that it is done
- your energy field is now prepared for healing
